The records of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters are divided into four series:  CORRESPONDENCE FILES, TOPICAL FILES, INDIVIDUAL DEPARTMENTS, and PUBLICATIONS.

The CORRESPONDENCE FILES are made up of two folders covering the dates 1967-1978.

The TOPICAL FILES includes minutes from the Administrative Council covering the period from 1974 through 1989.  These minutes, however, are not complete.  There are eleven folders of executive committee minutes, dating from 1973 to 1988.  The years 1976 and 1977 are missing.  Executive committee minutes for some years have a good run while other years are very sketchy.  Also includes LS&A Division Faculty meeting minutes 1963-1976.  North Central Association reports for 1973 and 1983 are also found in this series.

The INDIVIDUAL DEPARTMENTS series includes brochures and reports from many of the departments in CASL.  These include the Departments of Behavioral Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Statistics, Natural Sciences, and Social Science.  The Humanities Department has its own record group.  There are individual reports about the disciplines of History, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology within the Department of Social Studies, as well as an evaluation of Political Science and Sociology.

The PUBLICATIONS series includes CASL brochures, a history of the Division of Literature, Science, and the Arts published in 1969, and reports describing the role and achievements of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters when it was still a division.
