The Vice Chancellor for Business affairs record group is divided into two series: TOPICAL FILES and SUB-UNITS.

The TOPICAL FILES series includes budgets from 1963 to 1996. Most of the budgets are specifically for the Dearborn campus. If budgets for the Dearborn campus were not available, an overall budget for all three campuses, Dearborn, Flint, and Ann Arbor, was kept. There is a single volume of the 'Capital Outlay Budget Request' for the 1969-1970 academic year. Under the heading "Committees" the researcher will find minutes, dating from 1978 through 1979, from the Budget Priorities Committee. The researcher will find a 1979 handbook of policies and procedures and minutes dating from 1977 to 1982 from the Business Operations Advisory Committee. The 'Financial Report' covers all three campuses. The volumes which cover the period from 1964 through 1991 will be found in this record group. There are two issues, 1980-1981, of the 'Business Affairs at the University of Michigan-Dearborn'.

In the SUB-UNITS series there are two reports entitled 'Faculty and Staff Roster' dated 1984 and 1986, and the 'Faculty Profile', dated 1984-1986 from the Budget Coordination Office. The roster lists faculty and staff by department and unit and gives their titles. The profile lists all faculty alphabetically first by college, then department. It lists, for faculty, the highest degree attained, sex and race, last sabbatical, date of birth, rank, tenure status, date received tenure, and employment date. The Financial Services Office produced a manual entitled the 'Dearborn Administrative Guide'. The 1981 issue is in this record group.
