Scope and Contents: The records of the Department of Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics consist of one series: PUBLICATIONS.
The PUBLICATIONS series is divided into "General," "Intramural," and "Varsity" publications. The "General" publications include press releases, a program for the dedication of the field house and ice arena, a report on the budget and future of intercollegiate athletics at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and scattered sports schedules for the period from 1972 to 1982. Under the heading "Intramural Sports" there is a manual for the period 1992-1993. The "Varsity Sports" publications are broken down by individual sports, mostly in the decade of the 1970s. There are press guides and programs for basketball, fencing, and hockey. There are schedules for soccer and a press guide for volleyball. There is also a newsletter, dated 1978, entitled Wednesday with the Wolverines which focuses on the University of Michigan football team. Researchers should also consult the following University of Michigan-Dearborn record group for additional issues of Wednesday with the Wolverines.
