Scope and Contents: The Student Activities Office is divided into three series: TOPICAL FILES, PUBLICATIONS, and SUB-UNITS (Box 1).
The TOPICAL FILES series includes an annual report for the 1967/68 academic year, Student Activities Committee records from the period 1961 through 1963, one folder of correspondence dating from 1969 through 1989, and information on student housing from 1967.
The PUBLICATIONS series includes student handbooks, under varying titles, from 1969/70 through 1994/95. There is a single issue of SAO Presents for the Winter semester of 1980. There is also an undated copy of the Student Code of Non-Academic Conduct and Judicial System for the University of Michigan-Dearborn Campus.
In the SUB-UNITS series the researcher will find an annual report for 1966/67, brochures, correspondence (1966-1973), and a single issue of the newsletter Career Notes (April 1974) from the Career Planning and Placement Office.
The Counseling Center publications include brochures and flyers. The report entitled the University of Michigan-Dearborn Withdrawal Project, 1984-1987 studied why students withdrew from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and how these students could be helped to stay at the university.
The bulk of the collection was added 2003. It includes such Topical Files as: Promotional materials from 1976-2002 including events flyers, newspaper articles, clippings, video and audio cassettes, etc.; Student Handbooks from 1983-2004; one folder of photographs; an Appendix listing all events of the Student Activities Office from 1975/76-2002/03; album for Math Club with identified photos; binder for Alpha Kappa Psi (Professional Business Fraternity),1967-1991 (Box 7); slides (boxes 8-10 see elist).
