The Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Steering Committee was established in 1983 to prepare for the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus. The campus was established in 1959.
The Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Steering Committee record group is divided into three series: Correspondence Files, Topical Files, and Publications.
The Correspondence files series contains letters and memorandum from 1983.
The Topical Files series documents planning of various silver anniversary activities such as an auction, banquet, Founders' Day Luncheon, and Renaissance Conference. To celebrate this milestone the university held two symposia in 1985. The proceedings for both, 'Michigan: The Past 25 Years: The Next 25 Years' and 'Peace and Security in the Nuclear Age', are included in the record group.
The Publications series is made up of the history 'A Gift Renewed: The First 25 Years of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, 1959-1984' by Elton D. Higgs.
An addendum of budget material was returned to UM-Dearborn from the Bentley Library during 2006 and was added to the collection at the end of box 2.
