Kathy M. Irwin came to the library in 2000 from Comerica Bank in Detroit where she was a corporate librarian. She was the first professional librarian to head the Circulation department. During her tenure, many initiatives in interlibrary loan, physical changes to circulation desk and public area, credit card payment of fines and fees. Irwin complete an M.P.A. while at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She was president of the Michigan Library Association, and on the board of the Library of Michigan. Irwin became library director at Mott Community College, Flint, Michigan, in September 2010.
