The Student Activities Office complements the academic program of studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and enhances the overall educational experience of students through development of, exposure to and participation in diverse social, cultural, multi-cultural, intellectual, recreational, leadership, governance, group development and community service programs.
As a student advocacy office, SAO provides services and programs that assist students in exploring themselves in depth, to achieve greater self-understanding, as well as an understanding of others.
Traditionally providing outlets for self-enhancement and exploration, the SAO is a support entity for students in a growth process. SAO continues to offer the best possible personal, programmatic, and organizational responsiveness to student life. Reflective of the campus encouragement to enhance ideas and values, SAO encourages students to become involved in social, cultural, and educational programs, and continues to provide those programs which support the belief that a college education is a life expanding development process.
