I was able to read the book. It was a realistic and sharp novel. Being an immigrant myself, I can't help but to also feel for the experiences of Candido and America.
I enjoyed reading The Tortilla Curtain, for the unique way in which T.C. Boyle portrays Los Angeles's Topanga Canyon, catching both its privileged society and its underlying geological and ecological instability.
I also started an open discussion on my blog "
imobiliare iasi" about it.
