Your relationship with the Mardigian Library does not stop when you graduate! If you are working on an advanced degree or trying to find information for business or personal purposes, you can find answers at the Mardigian Library.
Alumni can use all the library’s resources in the building, including library research computers, a variety of quiet and not so quiet study spaces, audiovisual materials and more. If you need help finding something and cannot come to the library in person, use our
Ask a Question service to get help from our librarians by telephone, email or instant messaging. Alumni who wish to print out information from the library research computers can log in as a guest and pay 10 cents per sheet printed.
The Mardigian Library offers a free alumni library card for checking out up to seven items at one time. This includes access to
MeLCat, short for Michigan eLibrary Catalog, a statewide resource sharing service that enables our users to request books online from participating libraries and receive their requests within 3 to 5 business days. Over
240 libraries participate in MeLCat, including 12 of the state’s 15 public universities, many community colleges and private colleges, and many public libraries.
UM-Dearborn Alumni who have obtained an alumni library card can request MeLCat items by first searching for the item in
our catalog. If the title is not owned or is not available, click on the MeLCat button that appears on the right side of the screen. On the MeLCat website, click “Get this for me and enter your name and 8 digit UMID number. When the item is ready to pick up, we will send you a notice. Items are picked up and returned to the Mardigian Library.

I can understand that! The good news is that remote access to select journals is available through the alumni association. Follow the links on http://library.umd.umich.edu/services/alumni.html for more information.
