This full text resource, available to users both on and off campus, covers Social Sciences scholarship, emerging fields, and those reaching maturity since the publication of the original international edition. It highlights the expanding influence of economics in social science research and features contributions of new articles and biographies by scholars from around the world on a wide array of global topics in the social sciences.

Avoid unnecessary winter driving by taking advantage of online library services. Our web resources are available anytime, anywhere at http://library.umd.umich.edu , including access to many online books and articles.
What’s new?
•Starting January 2, 2008, the Mardigian Library will have a new procedure for printing. Students, faculty, and staff using a valid UM-Dearborn username and password will be able to login to the computers and print as usual. All others will be able to login as "guest" and will be charged 10¢ per sheet when picking up their print jobs at the Circulation Desk. For background information about this change, see the October 2007 Director’s Update.
•We have created some multimedia tutorials to help you use our resources more effectively. We hope to post more tutorials and podcasts during the current semester.
•We will be open 24 hours a day during finals in April, beginning at noon on Sunday, April 20th and ending at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26th. You will be required to show your UM-Dearborn ID to enter the building between midnight and 8:00 a.m. Library hours are posted online and in the building.

The Mardigian Library provides convenient services to keep you warm during the cold winter weather:
• Visit the faculty lounge, room 1208 ML, to sample the complimentary coffee. You can enjoy a quick cup while reading The Chronicle of Higher Education or while meeting with colleagues.
• Use the Mardigian Library’s resources anywhere, anytime in the comfort of your office or home, or while traveling: http://library.umd.umich.edu .
What’s new?
• In late February, the library will conduct a survey of faculty use and awareness of the library and its services. More details will be sent out at that time. We appreciate your participation as it will help us to understand your needs and improve our services.

ERes Update
• After nearly a decade of service to the campus, ERes, the library's electronic reserves system, will be decommissioned on May 31, 2008. We encourage faculty members who are still using ERes to move their course materials to:
o CTools
o VLT
o BlackBoard WebCT (School of Management)

R.E.A.D. will discuss two speeches from A Call to Conscience: The Landmark Speeches of Martin Luther King, Jr. during a special session of R.E.A.D. co-sponsored by SAO during the MLK week celebrations:
-pages 75-87, "I Have a Dream" and commentary
-pages 201-223, "I've Been to the Mountaintop" and commentary
All UM-Dearborn faculty, staff and students are invited to participate. Copies of the book are available at the SAO office or can be requested via MeLCat.
