The Mardigian Library will remain open 24 hours a day during final examinations this term. The library will be open from:
Noon Sunday April 22nd - 7:30pm Saturday April 28th
A current UMID will be required to enter the library between 10pm - 8am (10am on Saturday)
The 24 hour study is a trial for this term. We are conducting this trial in response to feedback obtained from the recently formed Student Library Advisory Committee and due to the results of a petition circulated by the Student Government earlier this year.
Extra security will be on hand during these extended hours.

Periodicals on the library’s second floor can now be checked out for 1 week instead of 3 days. The library is making this change because students and faculty are on campus fewer days per week than in past years and students often ask for a longer loan. Since many journals are available online, a longer loan for print copies will not adversely impact access to materials.

NOTE: Coffee and tea are now available again; the original short-lived beverage machine has been replaced. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.
We're very happy to announce that the library now provides coffee and tea in the Faculty Lounge, 1208 Mardigian Library.
A self-serve beverage system lets you brew an individual cup of coffee or tea any time the library is open. Take a minute to warm up with a hot cup while you're in library, or give the coffee a try when you meet with your colleagues in the lounge.
This is a trial service offered for the Winter Term.

Any bookmarks or links using the old mardigian.umd.umich.edu
URL should be updated to use library.umd.umich.edu. mardigian.umd.umich.edu will cease to function on February 25, 2007.
This should not affect most library bookmarks as mardigian.umd.umich.edu was only used for a portion of the library website.
A special note to faculty who may have old links to articles or journals on course web sites: article links created before August 2005 might include the mardigian URL. If you have links that begin with:
http://mardigian.umd.umich.edu/fwd.php?
you can replace that with:
http://library.umd.umich.edu/research/fwd.php?
the remainder of the URL should not change.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
