3D PRINTING

The Mardigian Library's IDEA Studio has one 3D printer for the use of current UM-Dearborn students, faculty, and staff.

Complete the following steps to use our 3D Printing Service:

  1. Complete 3D Printer Tutorial (first time submitters only)
    You will not be able to submit your designs for printing until you have completed this training.
  2. Create or find your 3D file design(s)
  3. Submit your .stl file(s) via our 3D Printing Form
  4. The IDEA Studio will email you confirming approval of your design and estimated cost of your print
  5. Your print will be scheduled into the 3D Printer Calendar and it will be printed by the IDEA Studio
  6. Upon completion, you will be notified via email that your object is ready to be picked up at the User Services desk

Disclaimer

You are responsible for the quality of the design you submit to be printed. The IDEA Studio's 3D Printing team will only check your design for instability flaws.

An estimated date of completion is just an estimate. If the machine requires sudden maintenance or any issues arise, there can be a delay in printing.
