Shelving Student Assistant

Student Assistants work independently to shelve materials, and maintain the collection, including straightening and organizing shelves and shelf reading. This role requires great attention to detail. Student Assistants spend most of their time standing and should be able to push book carts weighing up to 50 pounds without restrictions and take on other duties as assigned.

Library Info Desk Student Assistant

Join a team that works to provide the best possible experience for Mardigian Library users. Student Assistants must have excellent customer service skills, enthusiasm for the library, and the ability to work collaboratively with other students and staff. Primary responsibilities include assisting users with research and circulation needs, providing building information, and assisting with emergency and safety procedures. There will also be professional development opportunities available to you as a Library Info Desk Student Assistant.

Your application must include the following or it will not be considered:

  • Cover letter addressing your interest working at the Mardigian Library, previous customer service experience, previous experience interacting with people in a workplace/volunteer organization/club/extracurricular activity, and skills you hope to obtain through this position.

Due to the large number of applications received each semester, the library is unable to reply to every applicant regarding their application status. Applicants will be notified via email if the library wishes to schedule an interview. Please do not call, email, or visit library staff directly regarding your application.

Book Processing Student Assistant

Student Assistants may unpack new materials, sort mail, prepare materials for circulation (label, stamp, apply book jackets), prepare periodicals for the bindery, and/or inventory the collection.
