Web Advisory Committee

Charge:

The MLA Web Advisory Committee (WAC) is charged to work with MLA staff to assess and guide MLA's Web presence, developing short- and long-term plans for the MLA Web site and its unit components. The WAC is committed to the goals for MLA's Web site:

1) To provide an attractive, functional and easy-to-use Web site to facilitate and foster communication across unit lines and build community within the entire MLA membership population.

2) To provide professional development opportunities in the form of Web-based courses, publications, chat rooms, etc.

3) To look for ways to reduce publication/mailing costs and enhance MLA revenues through Web-based distribution of information and development of new services.

4) To reduce redundancy of data entry requirements and time-consuming registration processes for both MLA members and staff, freeing up more time for member activities.

5) To maintain a presence on the Internet that reflects to the public the professionalism and commitment of MLA members to all types of Michigan libraries.
