Reserving and Checking out Group Study Rooms (2030 & 2040)

Who can reserve and check out the Group Study Rooms?

  • Currently Registered University of Michigan-Dearborn Graduate and Undergraduate Students
  • Groups of three or more students (no more than ten students at a time)

How can I reserve a Group Study Room?

  • Reservations may be made on LibCal up to two weeks (14 days) in advance
  • Reserve a room online at least 24 hours in advance from the library homepage
  • Reservations may be made in person at the Library Info Desk
  • Reservations will NOT be accepted via telephone or email

What do I need to do to check out a Group Study Room?

  • Bring your valid MCard to the Library Info Desk
  • Arrive on time for your reservation (after 15 minutes the reservation will be canceled to open up the room for others to use)
  • Make sure you are part of a group of three or more people
  • Make a note of the time you need to return your room key, there is a $5 fee if you bring the key back after the time it is due!

For how long can I use a Group Study Room?

  • A group can reserve one room per day for a maximum of 1 hour and 55 minutes
  • Once your time is up, you can renew your room once if no one else has it reserved after you
  • Return the room key to the Library Info Desk on time to avoid paying a fine and to be respectful of other groups

A Few Important Things to Remember

  • Before the end of your reservation, clean up any mess your group makes and leave equipment in good, working order
  • Vacate the room when your reservation ends
  • Abide by all Group Study Room and Library Policies
    • Failure to observe library policies may lead to restriction of study room use in the future
