Where'd that truck come from?

Apparently it slammed into the left side of my torso when I wasn't looking...

I had forgotten about the fact that the surgery probably involved some use of local anesthetic; so when I was feeling really good on Wednesday, it was because the surgical site was still numb.

I feel like I've beaten a wookie at holographic chess, and that it has gotten angry with me and attempted to pull my left arm out of its socket. I guess I will not be going back to work as soon as I had expected; it would probably be unwise for me to drive on my current level of painkillers (even navigating my keyboard is giving me some trouble).

I will have more time to catch up on DVDs. Whether or not I remember anything about what I've watched afterwards remains to be seen. I went to perlscript training in Ann Arbor the day after I had my biopsy, and whereas I recall with perfect clarity being in a room with computers, what I had for lunch that day, and the fact that the instructor wrote something on the board, I do not have any memory of any content of the training. Which is kind of a shame, because I'd really like to know a little something about perl and cgi. Oh well.

Big pile of pills today. 30 painkilling pills in the bottle no longer strikes me as being an excessive prescription; I took two of them this morning. The antibiotic tastes predictably nasty. A while ago Grandma and I were commiserating about our medical treatments...I wonder if I'm taking as many pills as she does by now.
