Library PIN

Who needs a library PIN?

Anyone who has an Alumni Card or Guest Card will need to have a library PIN to access their library account online, or to place a hold on library materials.

Current UM-Dearborn students, faculty and staff do not need a library PIN. Please see MCards & Passwords for more information.

Creating a library PIN?

  1. From the Mardigian Library web site, select "My Account"
  2. Select "Guest Borrower or UM-Dearborn Alumni"
  3. Alumni - enter your last name and your 8-digit UMID (found on your MCard)
  4. Guest - enter your last name and 14-digit barcode (found on your guest card)
  5. Leave the PIN field blank and click "Log In"
  6.  This will not actually log you in. This will prompt you to create your PIN.
  7. Re-enter your last name and UMID or barcode
  8. Create and verify your new PIN, using the two PIN boxes
  9.  Your PIN must be at least four characters, and can include letters and numbers
  10. Click "Log In" again to create your PIN and complete the log-in

Changing Your PIN?

  1. Log in to your library account with your current PIN.
  2. In the box, click on "Modify your PIN." Follow the instructions in the pop-up window.

Lost your PIN? Questions? Reach out through any of our contact options.

Please note: Library staff members cannot view your PIN, but can reset it so you can create a new PIN of your choice.
