Happy Anniversary
Tomorrow is the one-year anniversary of my surgery. At times it's hard to believe the things I've had happen in the past year; I hope this means at some point I will spend an entire day without thinking about breast cancer.
Yesterday was not that day; I received a hat from Karmanos because I raised over $250 in this past summer's Race for the Cure.
Today was not that day, either. Elizabeth Edwards, on the heels of the very disappointing loss of her husband and John Kerry's bid to unseat the evil that is the current administration, has announced that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. I sent an email to the office of John Edwards; I don't have any reason to expect that my message will be passed along to her, but I do wish her the very best and am confident that she will be fine.
I had trouble believing a year ago that I would be fine, but I did have people telling me all would be well. Huh, I guess they showed me!
