Matching pink face & shirt, plus lots of ® signs
Detroit's Race for the Cure ® was today; I had a great time. I went downtown for the event with Maria again, but this time brought a guest, Brian, whom we snuck into Hockeytown for the Ford Team reception (involving fruit, and coffee that we didn't notice until leaving, and finagling extra Ford bandanas) by having him wear my Ford shirt.
I had my pink shirt on, and nobody's going to question the right of a pink-shirted person to go anywhere, tee hee. I confess I also cut in front of the line at the Starbucks® booth to pick up one of the little baby Frappuccino®s they were giving out. They even had cute little midget straws. Sorry, all of you who had to wait in the big line. I won't do it again.
It was extremely hot and sticky downtown today. Whereas I personally feel better this year (last year I'd been off of chemotherapy for one month, and the residual effects were still slowing me down), the walk wasn't easier, and I got sunburned again. My face has a bright pink glow, and I'm going to be sporting a white line from my backwards cap on my forehead for a while!
Thank you very much to anyone who may read this who has pledged your support for this year's race. It means a lot to me; even though I'm fine, there are women every year who fall to breast cancer, and supporting a cure--and better treatments than what is available now--is very important.
If you still want to help support the cause, or if you know somebody who might like the tax write-off, they'll be accepting donations until mid-july. :)

It's also not too late to give
